Chase Snider to join ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in digital role

I love this quote because the only constant in today's world is that life will continue to toss us twists and turns. We can either passively observe those changes or use them as opportunities to grow and expand our horizons.

That was exactly the feeling I had when I returned to my hometown of Springfield, Missouri to take on my current role overseeing digital strategy for The E.W. Scripps Company's radio division. It was a stretch assignment that allowed me to not only expand my professional career but also strengthen my understanding of the underlying values that steered my personal life.

As I spent time with our 34 radio stations I was able to identify the value of community impact and service to others.  I analyzed how our powerful local brands and dedicated talent made a tangible difference in the communities they operated in. I was able to echo this mentality in my own personal service with incredible organizations like Lost and Found Grief Center.

This sense of service became a passion when I was first exposed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. I was inspired by an indescribable sense of underlying humility. Founder Danny Thomas' vision to provide care for children "regardless of a family’s race, religion or financial status" still rings true on the expanding Memphis campus today.

This passion pushed me to launch my #ChaseRUNS initiative and run more than 500 consecutive days for the kids. Thanks to the incredible generosity of my family, friends and complete strangers we've raised almost $10,000 thru a half-dozen races to fight childhood cancer and generated over 85,000 digital impressions exposing audiences to the St. Jude brand.

I am beyond excited to share that I now will be able to combine opportunity with passion in the next chapter of my life. I have accepted a role serving ALSAC/St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. ALSAC is dedicated to raising funds and awareness for St. Jude.

This new adventure will mean leaving my hometown and adding a few more miles between friends and family. A nervous energy has fueled me in my decision to take a path that leads to unknown rewards.

A mentor recent told me a quote that she has kept close to her decision making process, "When the path is vague and the reward is clear, the devil is in it.

When the path is clear and the reward is vague, God is in it."

The path is clear.

I won't begin naming names because I would inevitably leave out one of the hundreds of people who have helped write my story thus far. Here's hoping you can make a stop in Memphis soon for some tasty BBQ and great music.

P.S. I will call out one name: "I love you, Mom...thank you for being the rock that has helped me weather both the calm and stormy waters"
